See samurai culture firsthand and learn about Date Masamune, a warlord in Tohoku

The museum visually showcases the history of Date Masamune (1567-1636), the first load of the Sendai Domain. Date Masamune was born in the Warring States period and became one of the most powerful military commanders in the Tohoku region. He is known as a hero who had built a castle in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture; the base of the present urban development.

In the museum, 25 scenes from his birth to last breath are exhibited by 250 life-size realistic wax figures. Besides English, each description is provided in Chinese and Korean as well.
